How a shared AI chat works
Start a chat
Pick a model and start talking. You can switch models at any point in the conversation.
Invite your friends
Add friends by their username, then invite them into the chat. They see the whole conversation, including what came before.
Call the AI
Talk among yourselves, and press Call AI when you want an answer. The AI reads everyone's messages, each with its author's name.
Who pays in a group AI chat
Whoever calls the AI pays for that turn, so nobody runs up a bill on someone else's account. If you would rather cover your friends, the chat's owner can choose to pay for every call, optionally only with the chat's own model. A friend can still choose to pay for a call themselves.

Can I use ChatGPT with friends in the same chat?
Pass the Floor is not ChatGPT, but it offers OpenAI's GPT models, alongside Claude, Gemini and others, in a chat you can share with your friends.
Do my friends need an account?
Yes. Each friend signs in with Google and picks a username, so you can add them as a friend and invite them into your chats.
Do my friends have to pay?
Only for the AI calls they make themselves, and only if the chat's owner has not chosen to pay for everyone. Reading and writing messages is free.
Can the AI tell us apart?
Yes. Every message reaches the AI with the name its author uses in that chat, so it can answer each person directly.
Who can see a shared chat?
Only the people in it. Everyone in a chat sees all of it, including messages written before they joined, and the owner can remove people at any time.
